Grandma Chicken Soup

 


 

Ingredients

Chicken Stock -2 Cups

Turmeric-1/4 tsp

Curry powder-1/4 tsp(optional)

Hing-1 pinch

Salt to taste

Sesame oil

 

For the Tempering / Tadka:

Curry leaves-2 spring

Green chillies-1

Cloves-4

Cinnamon-2

 

For the Sauté:

Tomatoes- 2 medium (optional)

Garnishing

Fresh Coriander – 1/3 bunches

 

Spices For the DD:

Cumin seeds -1 tsp

Black Pepper corns- 1 tsp

Shallots-10

Garlic cloves-8


Preparation method:

  1. Crush the tomato using hand and crush the Spices using DD.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add cloves, cinnamon, green chillies and curry leaves.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes and sauté it.
  4. Add the chicken stock, turmeric, salt, hing and curry powder.
  5. When it boils, add the dd spices.
  6. Cover it and cook it For the 15 min in a medium flame.
  7. Stir it occasionally. When it’s done, simmer it For the 5 mins .
  8. Garnish with Fresh coriander and serve it hot.
