Mom's Tomato Curry

Tomato –moms’


Tomato-6 medium

Onion-2 medium

Green chillies-2

Salt to tatse




Sambar powder-1/2 tsp

Turmeric-1/4 tsp

Asfoedita-1 pinch


For the tempering/Tadka

Mustard seed-1/2 tsp

Urad dal-1/2 tsp

Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp

Red chillies-2

Curry leaves

Preparation method:

  • Crush the tomatoes by hand.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add tempering spices.
  • Once they splutter, add chopped onions and green chillies and sauté it
  • Add the crushed tomatoes and the masala spices.
  • Cover it and cook it For the 15 mins.
  • Once the oil floats on the top, garnish it with coriander leaves.
  • Serve it hot with the rice or roti.
